The Emir of Katsina, Alhaji Abdulmumini Usman, led a large gathering of residents on Tuesday in rain-seeking prayers held at 8:00 am at the Eid Prayer Ground Mosque.

The prayers were conducted by Imam Gambo Mustapha, Chief Imam of the Katsina Central Mosque.

Participants fervently prayed for a bountiful harvest, relief from economic hardships, reduced food prices, and an end to the insecurity plaguing the state.

Malam Abdurrahman Bature, one of the participants, stressed in a ChannelsTV report the critical need for rain to sustain crop growth amidst soaring food prices.

He urged residents to conduct themselves in accordance with Islamic principles and called on leaders to govern with honesty and sincerity.

The event occurred against a backdrop of high living costs and food inflation nearing 40% nationwide.
