The writer and producer of the Nigerian film series, “King of Boys,” Kemi Adetiba, has confirmed the production of a third sequel.
The news comes after a fan, with the X handle @Thazhigilla_, asked about the possibility of a third film in the franchise.
Adetiba simply replied with a “YES” to the fan’s question. She then followed up with an image that provided further details about the upcoming film. The image reads “KING OF BOYS 3 (THE BEGINNING OF THE END) Ep 1 – Chapter 1.” It is captioned, “Juuuuuust in case you thought I was pulling legs.”
This news comes after the success of the first “King of Boys” film in 2018. It is a crime thriller on the powerful Alhaja Eniola Salami, played by actress Sola Sobowale. The Nollywood veteran plays the role of a powerful businesswoman and philanthropist who finds herself in the world of politics.
The story centres on power struggles in Nigerian politics. In 2021, the television series “King of Boys: The Return of the King” showed viewers a deeper look at Eniola’s story. It shows her drive is mainly fueled by revenge, regret, and her pursuit of power.
