No fewer than 2,107 people have been rendered homeless by a windstorm which struck Dandi and Arewa Local Government Areas of Kebbi State.

National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) in the state, disclosed in a statement on Saturday, added that 406 houses were destroyed while 351 livestock were affected.

NEMA added that household items, animals, foodstuffs, and shops were also affected by the storm.

The agency’s Head of Operations, Aliyu Shehu Kafindangi, led the team to assess the incident that affected Tukurwa, Geza, Kamba, and Kyangawai in Dandi Local Government Area, NEMA said.

Other communities affected include Kangiwa, Mulgu and Iya-eri in Arewa Local Government Area.
