Nigeria Mining Cadastre Office (NMCO) has announced that the agency electronic Mining Cadastre Plus (eMC+) may not be accessible due to a technical glitch.

Director-General of NMCO, Engr. Simon Nkom, in a statement, called on stakeholders to be patient with the agency as the technical team are working assiduously to rectify the glitch.

It would be recalled that the eMC+ is application software that has been modified to cope with challenges, and modifications which include completion of e-Recording and Archiving of Mineral Title documents; Completion of Acquisition, Geo-referencing and Geocoding of Topographic Maps of Nigeria for integration into the Mining Cadastre Digital Database and the Completion of Production of Thematic Mapping of Mineral Title Restricted (Protected) Areas for integration into Nigeria Mining Cadastre Digital Database.

Nkom said: “The Nigeria Mining Cadastre Office (NMCO), wishes to inform the mining sector stakeholders and the general public that the Agency is currently having a system downtime.

“This is due to a technical glitch being experienced by the Cloud Service Provider hosting our data.

“As you are aware, NMCO has upgraded its system to the electronic Mining Cadastre Plus (eMC+) to enhance seamless processing of mineral title applications in a transparent manner, in line with international best practices.

“The agency’s cloud service provider has informed the office that their technical team is working assiduously to rectify the glitch as soon as possible.

“MCO wishes to assure our stakeholders and the general public that the Agency’s data is secured. We appeal for understanding while the technical glitch is being resolved.”
