Speaking during the presentation of the party logo in Abuja, the national leader of the party, Dr. Rabiu Kwankwaso, called on all the party members to abide by the logo and color that was changed.

Kwankwanso said that the NNPP was not planning an alliance with any party ahead of 2027.

The logo was unveiled after a National Executive Committee meeting of the party on Friday, April 5, 2024 and the National Convention of Saturday April 6, 2024.

“This logo and colour is to represent all Nigerians, including members of the Kwankwasiyya. So, we are very happy that we now have a new colour, which is very conspicuous and by the end of the day, will be very clear on a ballot paper,” Kwankwaso said.

“All see what happens in the 2023 election, when people went to vote including my humble self, we could not identify our logo. Now, even a blind man with very little assistance will know the NNPP logo now on the bulletin paper.

“So, we are very happy, we are very grateful to the leadership of the party for this initiative, and we are equally very grateful to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for approving our request.”

The National Chairman of NNPP, Dr. Ajuji Ahmed, called on the States’ Independent Electoral Commissions (SIECs) across the country to take notice of this new development in the democratic journey of the country.

He noted Nigerian voters to look out for the logo in ballot papers henceforth to cast their ballot for NNPP in any election in Nigeria.

He said: “History is being made here today, as a new dawn has arrived for the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP). The Party is today presenting its new logo to Nigerian voters which henceforth will adorn ballot papers in every election in Nigeria.

“Following the approval of the logo by the only body charged with the responsibility of registering and monitoring the activities of political Parties and managing elections in Nigeria, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).”

He also emphasized that due to the issue of logistics, INEC will still use the old logo for the off-season September 21, 2024 Governorship election in Edo State and the re-run election coming up in Kano State shortly.

NNPP spokesman Ladipo Johnson noted that the party is the roadmap to a new country driven by education and knowledge.

He explained that the new logo, which is a book carrying a graduation cap signifying education, replaces the old agricultural harvest embedded in the Nigerian map.

Ladipo said: “Education is the bedrock of all. It encompasses strength, development, growth and all that is needed for national development. And when we talk about education, we’re not just talking of books, but information and all other forms of education.”
