Mace datacentre chief Jon McElroy has left the company in the summer of this year- after construction CEO Andrew Jackson stepped down after three months

Alister Grey has already replaced Jon McElroy as datacentre chief at Mace.

McElroy joined Mace nearly twenty years ago and was a strong proponent of the construction firm’s expansion to large projects such as the Shard in London.

McElroy is the latest in several high profile departures from Mace

CEO for Construction Andrew Jackson stepped down after three months in the role earlier this month, citing personal reasons.

In the last 12 months, public sector managing director Terry Spraggett, major projects managing director Andy Jones and Jackson’s predecessor Gareth Lewis have all departed the firm.

Mace also recently announced that Mark Reynolds would be stepping down as executive leader, with Jason Millett taking up the role in early 2025.

Mace’s profits remain strong

Despite the recurrent rurnover of senior staff, financial reports indicate that Mace is continuing to prosper.

The latest annual report recorded a revenue of £2.3bn in 2023, with £61.7m of profit before tax, which was up 68% on the 2022 figures.

Mace’s 2026 business strategy intends to grow annual revenues to £3bn by 2026.
