The National Federation of Demolition Contractors (NFDC) has announced the appointment of Brian Carroll following a leadership restructuring in the wake of CEO Duncan Rudall’s departure
Duncan Rudall announced he was stepping down earlier this year, due to family illness.
The change of leadership has led to the development of a new strategic roadmap for the 80-year-old institution. The NFDC remains dedicated to its stated mission: to represent the matters that will shape the future of demolition and ensure continuous improvement within the sector.
Its core priorities, safety, skills & training, wellbeing, sustainability, and community, remain central to all its initiatives.
Brian Carroll has worked closely with the NFDC for many years
Brian Carroll brings extensive experience in demolition, equipment, training, and leadership, having worked closely with the NFDC and the National Demolition Training Group (NDTG).
His involvement in the Breaking Down Barriers initiative, particularly through training in prisons, demonstrates a strong commitment to social impact and education within the industry. He has also had an active membership in the Institute of Demolition Engineers (IDE), including a term on its Council of Management.
In his new role, Brian will support regional engagement, represent both the NFDC and NDTG on external platforms, and contribute to industry forums, helping to reinforce the Federation’s ongoing commitment to member engagement and visibility.
Adrian Corrigan and the NFDC National Council continue to oversee the Federation
President Adrian Corrigan is supported by chief financial office Lesley Ransome and the broader professional team.
Collectively, this team will ensure that the NFDC continues to serve as the leading voice of the UK demolition industry, advancing its mission and remaining focused on the values that define the Federation.
Ahead of his departure in late May 2025, the NFDC has also extended sincere gratitude to Duncan Rudall for his service and leadership as CEO. His contributions have been instrumental in shaping the Federation’s recent journey, and the organisation acknowledges his professionalism, dedication, and impact on the demolition sector.
