Advantage Home Construction Insurance (AHCI) has announced access to new A-rated capacity, through their long standing capacity partner Cadis MGA

This marks one of the most significant milestones in the company’s history and strengthens its position as a leading provider of structural warranties and construction insurance across the UK.

Advantage policies can now be underwritten by an independently assessed A-rated insurer

This provides clients, lenders, legal professionals and partners with an enhanced level of financial confidence, particularly important in the construction sector where warranties typically span 10 or 12 years.

Being backed by an A-rated carrier represents a key indicator of long-term financial stability and an insurer’s ability to meet its obligations. As the industry faces increased regulatory scrutiny and rising expectations around risk management, this development places Advantage firmly among the most credible and resilient warranty providers in the market.

“This is a major milestone for the business and a reflection of the trust we’ve earned over the past decade,” said Keith Gannon, chief executive officer at AHCI. “Achieving capacity with an A rated insurer demonstrates the strength, consistency and technical excellence behind our service. It gives our clients and partners even greater confidence that their projects and homeowners are protected for the long term.”

The enhanced rating also opens the door to greater flexibility for clients

Many lenders, institutions and legal teams specifically require warranties backed by an A rated insurer in order to progress funding and transactions. Advantage’s new status makes these pathways smoother and more accessible, particularly for developers looking to secure finance or engage with high-street lenders.

This capacity is in addition to Advantage’s existing rated scheme through CGICE, their long standing insurance partner and they are delighted now to offer new and existing clients access to the most specialised offer in the market.

Gannon added: “Every member of our team has played a part in reaching this point. Their expertise and commitment to doing things the right way have been instrumental. This achievement isn’t just about where we stand today – it sets the foundation for our continued growth and our ability to support even more clients with reliable, robust cover.”

With a full suite of products including structural defects warranties, retrospective cover, self-build and conversion warranties, contractors all-risk insurance and performance bonds, and insurance backed guarantees, Advantage is now better positioned than ever to support developments of all sizes across the UK.
