The Severn Trent tunnelling framework covers tunnelling, drilling, and shaft works in England and Wales
The procurement is split into two lots: build-only works, worth £300m, and design-and-build works worth £900m.
It is set to last 12 years, starting in 2026, with the option to extend by an additional 3 years to 2041.
The framework covers the North East, North West, Yorkshire & the Humber, the Midlands, East of England, London, the South East, the South West, and Wales.
Across the two lots, 17 work types have been listed, including thrust boring, horizontal directional drilling, pipe ramming, and more.
The works feature a heavy focus on trenchless drilling techniques. It is expected that between five and seven contractors will be appointed in each lot.
