We recently came together in person for another extraordinary Design Day UK, uniting with our fellow architects, interior designers, landscape professionals, and site designers.
Attendees at this year’s event were treated to an exclusive look at the newly released Vectorworks 2024.

Additionally, attendees could collaborate with like-minded designers and the Vectorworks team, receiving expert answers to their technical questions. Plus, they gained insight into the future of Vectorworks through our Public Roadmap.
How does this event benefit architects, interior designers and landscape design professionals?
In addition to gaining insights from fellow design professionals worldwide who are utilising Vectorworks, there was something valuable for every designer in each industry in attendance.

The Design Day series will be held in multiple countries. What are the advantages of hosting such events on a global scale, and how does it align with Vectorworks’ mission and vision?
In previous years, we have successfully hosted Design Day in the UK, but we’re excited to expand our reach and host the event in several U.S. cities as well as Canada and Australia soon.
Our goal with this Design Day series is to connect with as many customers as possible in our direct markets.
Through engaging keynote presentations and valuable networking opportunities, we aim to provide designers with a deeper understanding of the software that was specifically created for them, empowering them to unleash their creativity like never before.
This event serves as a constant reminder of our mission and vision to develop intuitive, powerful, and practical software solutions for design professionals around the globe so they can create experiences that will transform the world.

This year’s agenda featured dynamic customer success stories and presentations from our very own leaders.
Vectorworks CEO Dr. Biplab Sarkar and vice president of sales Adrian Slatter gave an overview of the past year and outlined plans for the future of Vectorworks.
The new features and enhancements in Vectorworks 2024 were unveiled
Plus, chief technology officer Steve Johnson, director of product marketing Martyn Horne, and landmark product planner Katarina Ollikainen presented the new features and enhancements in Vectorworks 2024 and how they were created to accelerate designers’ workflows from start to finish.
Sophie Entwisle, a principal-chartered landscape architect at Pegasus Group, discussed utilising design software to work smarter, not harder, highlighting the ever-increasing importance of partnership between practitioner and software.
She also shed light on the transformative impact that Vectorworks has had on some of her most innovative and dynamic designs.
Exploring the transition from traditional 2D workflows to 3D and BIM
Mike Harrison, Arb, RIBA, associate director at Allan Joyce Architects, discussed his successful transition from traditional 2D workflows to the dynamic world of 3D and BIM, all while minimising disruption and seamlessly handling projects of various sizes and sectors.
Pete Champion, group partner and creative strategy director and Kirsty Vance, associate director of interior design at I-AM outlined the latest hospitality trends and uncovered the hidden dynamics of modern hotel experiences, insights, and real-world applications.
They also specifically touched on how Vectorworks played a crucial role in realising the vision of Center Hotels.
Rachel Pickford, project architect and Vectorworks lead at Sarah Wigglesworth Architects gave an overview of how their practice’s Vectorworks strategy has progressed over time and discussed one of the firm’s most recent projects, a new residential neighbourhood in Nottingham, the Elms.
She delved into how they used Vectorworks to support the design development of housing typologies, streets, and the public realm, touching on key lessons learned and insight into how they’ll continue to improve and develop technical workflows.
Lastly, Vectorworks sales enablement director Tamsin Slatter shed light on the company’s latest advancements. She elaborated on how these updates can enhance workflows and significantly save precious time.
