A new infographic from JCT outlines the best guidance and contracts to deliver Construction Playbook policies and objectives
Published by the government in December 2020, the Construction Playbook policies and objectives aim to inform public and private sector players on sourcing and contracting public works projects and programmes.
The guidance refers to 14 key policy areas, and key activities, within the procurement stages, including:

Benchmarking

JCT 2016 is specifically referenced in Chapter 6 on Effective Contracting, where it is recommended that standard forms of contract “can be used to help simplify and speed up procurement procedures”.

The new infographic adds to JCT’s existing range of advisory content on Construction Playbook policies, as seen in the article “JCT Contracts Meeting the Objectives of the Construction Playbook”, released shortly after the playbook’s publication.
The new infographic provides a clear visual representation of that article’s findings, signposting key JCT contract products and approaches that can be adopted to meet the Construction Playbook’s objectives.
