The House of Representatives has called on the federal government to suspend the implementation of the Samoa Agreement.

Additionally, the House has resolved to investigate the agreement signed by the federal government on June 28.

The resolution was passed by the green chamber after adopting a motion of urgent public importance sponsored by Sani Madaki, the minority whip, along with 87 other lawmakers.

The agreement recently sparked controversy due to reports that some lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) provisions were included in the pact.
