Popular Nigerian actor Titi Kuti has been honoured in Canada by the Mayor of Brampton, Patrick Brown.

The actor famed for his role as Ade Tiger in the blockbuster Netflix series King of Boys: Return Of The King as well as Netflix series, Anikulapo was honoured in the Canadian city of Brampton for his outstanding contributions as a renowned Nigerian actor and producer.

Moreso, Actor/Producer who recently produced the film, ‘Color Of Love’ along with Canadian Businessman Oshoke Obozuwa had a private screening which was attended by the Mayor and his entire Council cabinet. On the occasion of this recognition, Titi Kuti was thanked by the Mayor on behalf of the entire city of Brampton for his valuable contributions, positive impact in the arts and dedication to community development.

The certificate title reads “THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF BRAMPTON

“In recognition of your outstanding contributions as a renowned Nigerian actor and producer, I am delighted to honour you for your exemplary work in the community.

Thank you for your valuable contributions and for making a positive impact in Brampton. July 10, 2024.”

Speaking of his achievement Kuti expressed joy stating that it felt good for all the effort put into his job and passion to get noteworthy recognition beyond the shores of Africa.

In his words he said “I am expressly grateful for this recognition, it is a testament of commitement, effort and consistency I have put into this craft both home and abroad. I am happy to be an ambassador of Nigeria, and I Do my best to be a model citizen in every society I function, leaving a trail of positive recognition for my home country through the use my talent,” the thespian said.

“It Felt good to be honoured, it shows that with continuous effort, positive impact is being made and we are getting the right attention. I believe strongly in nollywood, and the world is just starting to see the power out stories wield, and the capacity of our practitioners. Our most recent project “Color of Love” went a long way in inspiring the confidence of the City of Brampton in the capacity of nollywood practitioners, there are other note worthy producers and projects all doing great work , so this award recognition does represent a collective effort. The City of Brambton has been very supportive, making the environment conducive for filming, surely there will be more resourceful conversation in the very near future, and we might even be looking at a nollywood – Brampton cross over project soon. The possibilities as limitless and the Mayor personally assured that this is just the beginning of greater things, his continued support in making Brampton a welcome come for the creative industry remains resolute and guaranteed.
