Chef Smith’s fake record

Recall that Chef Smith had announced on social media that he set a new record for the longest cooking marathon. He claimed to have cooked for 802 hours and 25 minutes, surpassing the previous mark.

However, Alina Polianskaya, a PR executive for Guinness World Records, refuted these claims.

“It is not true that Ebenezer Smith has been awarded a Guinness World Record certificate,” Polianskaya told the BBC.

“The current and true record holder for the longest cooking marathon by an individual is Alan Fisher from Ireland. He achieved 119 hours, 57 minutes, and 16 seconds in Matsue, Japan, from September 28 to October 3, 2023.”

The result of this scandal has led to further legal troubles for the chef. He was arrested by the sponsor of the marathon cooking event, the Amadia Shopping Center, for a breach of contract.

A representative from the company came to
the venue of Chef Smith’s press conference, trying to understand why the chef did not inform them of his plans to hold a press conference at another location. Despite their provision of cooking utensils and other equipment for the cooking marathon to hold.

There is only a short clip of Chef Smith’s apology available on the internet.

The full apology is expected to be televised in full later today on the GHOne television channel.
