The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) on Wednesday onboarded 12 more state-owned tertiary institutions to the student loan application portal.
This development increases the number of state universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education whose students are eligible for the credit facility from 36 to 48.

The new onboarded institution include Abia State Polytechnic; Benue State University, Makurdi; College of Education, Waka-Biu; University of Medical and Applied Sciences Enugu State; Aliko Dangote University of science and Technology Wudil, Kano State.
Others are Kwara Polytechnic; Lagos State University of Science and Technology; Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University Lapai, Niger State; Olabisi Onabanjo University; Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic; Taraba State Polytechnic and Yobe State University.
NELFUND spokesman Nasir Ayitogo pointed out that students data from 121 institutions are being awaited, even as he called on the remaining institutions to upload data of their students on the loan portal as soon as possible to enable their students benefit from the scheme.
The Guardian observed that while Osun ranks top with 13 state institution, others like Delta Rivers, Plateau, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Bayelsa, Jigawa and Sokoto are conspicuously missing with no state institution.
Below is the list of all state institutions eligible for students’ loan:
