The North East Development Commission (NEDC) has warned contractors handling its ongoing projects across the six North East states to avoid shoddy execution, saying that defaulting contractors won’t get away with such action.
The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Commission, Mohammed Goni Alkali gave the warning when he led his team on a two-day project inspection to Adamawa to ensure strict compliance of the project specifications and timelines.
The Commission expressed satisfaction with the state of most of the ongoing projects in the state.
He vowed to sanction defaulting contractors or any shoddy execution.
He urged the contractors to abide by the agreement reached but promised to look into the challenges being faced to ensure the timely completion of all the projects.
“The rationale of the visit is to simply assess the progress made, identify challenges, and come up with solutions for the benefits of the state and its teeming people.
