CBRE Southampton has created the new role of director of residential development and investment, appointing Ryan Harris to the role
The new CBRE director has over 20 years of experience in the industry, through various living sectors.
Harris has already worked in residential development and investment within CBRE Southampton, but the newly established role will allow for a more streamlined process.
The new CBRE director will cover many facets
Harris will now cover the central southern region, working within residential living sectors (including brownfield and strategic land), built-to-rent (including single—and multi-family living), purpose-built student accommodation, senior living, and mixed-use sectors.
He has extensive previous experience working for housing organisations, including as land manager at Crayfern Homes for two years, land and development manager at Luken Homes for two years, associate director at Goadsby for five years, associate partner at Carter Jonas for six years, and head of land & investment at Osborne for three years.
Harris then took on the role of director at CBRE almost a year ago, before the new role was established.
“Enormous potential across living sectors”
Before becoming the new CBRE director, Harris has advised a variety of landowners, charities, and large institutions on their property portfolios and disposal strategies.
He has also overseen the delivery of multiple complex brownfield regeneration sites in city centres, requiring detailed negotiations with key stakeholders, as well as helping clients maximise value from their long-term promotion land.
Ryan said: “The south coast has enormous potential across the living sectors. With the new government committing to reforming planning and setting mandatory targets for housing delivery, our region will be a key area for growth and investment over the years to come. I am delighted to join CBRE and be advising clients on their real estate projects at such a key time in the marketplace.”
Tej Singh, head of CBRE Southampton, said: “Ryan brings quality expertise and a unique skill set to our team. With his years of experience, this new service will further expand our offering to clients across the region.”
