Roma have set their sights on Terem Moffi as the Serie A club is targeting a possible deal this summer.

This is according to a post by France-based Nigerian sports journalist, Babatunde Ojora, of OJB Sports on Thursday.

“Roma have put Nigerian striker, Terem Moffi, in their sights,” the sports reporter wrote on his X account.

Roma director, Florent Ghisolfi, signed Moffi from FC Lorient in January 2023 during his days as the sporting director of OGC Nice.

It now appears that Ghisolfi is working towards having a reunion with Moffi whom he also wants at Roma in Italy.

Ghisolfi is also planning to replace Romelu Lukaku with Moffi should the Belgian striker leave for Napoli.

Napoli’s new manager, Antonio Conte, is keen to sign Lukaku who he worked with at Inter Milan as a replacement for Victor Osimhen.

Meanwhile, Moffi has so far had a good goalscoring return for both Lorient and Nice since stepping foot in France back in 2020.

The Super Eagles striker scored 35 goals and made seven assists in 90 matches across all competitions for Lorient.

Since joining Nice in January 2023, Moffi has hit the net 20 times and rendered five assists in 52 overall appearances.

The 25-year-old currently has a market value of €25m, which is his highest as a footballers according to the official Transfer Markt website.

Moffi has jetted back to France for pre-season duties with Nice who will start their 2024/25 Ligue 1 campaign away to Auxerre on August 17.
