The isoweld®-B, the latest innovation from SFS Group Fastening Technology, is a new battery-powered version of the proven isoweld® system. Designed as a game-changer for contractors, it leverages the manufacturer’s trusted induction technology along with specialised stress plates and fasteners to permanently secure waterproofing membranes to the roof deck
The key advantage with the battery-operated machine is it eliminates the trailing of cables, avoiding potential trip hazards from busy sites and improves overall efficiency.
Crucially, SFS’s new battery version retains the proven performance of its hard-wired predecessor, while both are compatible with most roof deck types, insulation materials and various membrane types.

Where isoweld®-B wins out, however, is in allowing far greater mobility for installers who can work uninterrupted from cables. Each welding operation takes just three seconds while the operative works in an upright position, reducing fatigue and maximising productivity.

“Significantly, isoweld®-B answers a lot of the issues that installers had experienced with the original version, primarily where the overload of the site electric supply could result in there being insufficient power or current to enable a weld to be carried out.
“Installers will be able to rent the machines with two batteries so that they will always have one charging on the 110-volt supply and further be able to call on full support from us. This includes training and technical help if an electrical or other issue should occur, as well as supply of materials or documentation. Ultimately, we believe isoweld®-B effectively leaves the competition trailing.”
The isoweld®-B is user-friendly and ergonomic, with an average charging time of under an hour and a single charge enabling approximately 350 welds from the lithium-ion battery.
isoweld® 3000
While SFS will continue to supply and support its popular hard-wired isoweld® 3000 fastening system, which has been successfully utilised in fixing 40m square metres of single ply membrane worldwide since launch – the new battery version is a more manoeuvrable and ergonomic alternative, able to overcome deficiencies in site electric supplies, which are often dependent on diesel generators and in demand from all the trades.
