Health Infrastructure has appointed Turner & Townsend for project management services on the construction of Rouse Hill Hospital, New South Wales (NSW)
The NSW and Federal governments have allocated AU$910 million (£437.4m) to build a state-of-the-art hospital, Rouse Hill Hospital, located adjacent to Rouse Hill town centre.
Included in the new hospital will be emergency services, comprehensive birthing services, and in- and out-patient services. The building designs will consult both health professionals and the local community.
“Modern, accessible, digitally enabled models of healthcare”
Kirsty Gill, health sector lead, Australia and New Zealand, at Turner & Townsend said: “Anticipating population growth of 500,000 by 2041 in the North-West growth area, the state-of-the art Rouse Hill Hospital will be a vital local health hub in Western Sydney that provides crucial acute and community care services for residents now and in the future.
“This appointment continues our long-term partnership with Health Infrastructure to deliver on its vision for modern, accessible, digitally enabled models of healthcare and wellness through prevention.”

Turner & Townsend Construction Market Intelligence Report, March
In March, Turner & Townsend released the latest Construction Market Intelligence Report stating that retention and retraining should be the focus for construction firms in order to prepare for the further issues that the skills shortage and economic issues will cause.
Economic issues stem from inflation, causing the Tender Price Inflation to stay high, and wages to remain climbing to unsustainable levels. Real estate inflation from 2026-2029 is also predicted to remain constant at its current level of 3.5%, and infrastructure is the same at 5%.
Martin Sudweeks, UK managing director of cost management at Turner & Townsend, says: “One only has to look at the slate of current and upcoming announcements to see how central the construction sector is to the UK’s economic and social goals – from the recent Planning & Infrastructure Bill to the hotly anticipated industrial and infrastructure strategies. However, multiple headwinds will challenge our ability to deliver against these ambitions.
“Half a decade on from the disruption of the Covid-19 pandemic, year-on-year employment is still shrinking. We need to radically rethink how we attract talent – looking to a wider set of disciplines, backgrounds and skills that will deliver the modern, digitally-enabled, creative construction workforce of the future.”
