The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), yesterday, said investigation had indicted 113 persons for Internet fraud out of 127 suspects arrested during a ‘Yahoo party’ in Akure, Ondo State.

EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, who disclosed this while addressing a group of protesters under the auspices of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), said the commission had filed criminal charges against over 80 individuals indicted during investigation.

Olukoyede further disclosed that the commission in its Lagos operation also indicted over 100 suspects taken into custody and had filed charges against over 50 of them.

He said: “As I am talking to you, about 127 persons were arrested. It was a Yahoo party. Forget about the lies they are telling you. They came from nine local councils to have the party in Akure. As I am talking to you, 113 were indicted. We have filed charges against about 80 of them. The remaining will surely have their days in court.”

Recall that the anti-graft agency arrested 127 suspects in an early morning raid on June 8, at simultaneous parties held at Signature and Abah clubs in the state capital.
