Simply Certification appoints Lyndsey Gates as managing director

Leading certification body Simply Certification has appointed a new managing director as part of a planned leadership transition designed to support the company’s next phase of growth

Lyndsey Gates, who has been with the business since 2022, steps into the role following an internal promotion, while current Managing Director Alexandra Stobbs will move into the role of Commercial Director.

About Simply Certification

Founded by Alex in 2020 and headquartered in Jarrow, South Tyneside, Simply Certification provides certification for the construction industry across a range of standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 19650 and MCS, and is one of the fastest-growing certification bodies in the UK, thanks in part to the burgeoning need for PAS2030 certification.

The company announced last year that it had joined Netherlands-based Normec, a specialist in the testing, inspection, certification and compliance industry, and is set to achieve revenues of £3.5m this year.

Alex Stobbs said: “I am delighted that Lyndsey is taking the helm at Simply Certification. Lyndsey has been an integral part of our team since the beginning and the driving force behind the processes that have enabled us to grow so quickly. She is a real asset to the team, and I can’t wait to see what this next phase of growth looks like for the business.”

Lyndsey said: “It’s an exciting time for Simply Certification as we enter our next phase of growth. Alex has been a great support to me throughout the transition, and she will continue to add value to the company’s strategic direction by pursuing commercial opportunities. We are and always have been a great team.”
