Elecosoft, creators of the project planning tool Asta Powerproject®, have joined forces with Nodes and Links, a new AI planning co-pilot platform
The partnership will offer enhanced AI capabilities to customers, which will improve reliability and programme forecasting. It will enhance risk management and help reduce issues such as project delays and cost overruns.
Asta Powerproject is a leading software tool used for project, portfolio, and resource management. The toll is trusted by 90 of the top 100 main contractors in the UK for their construction projects, regardless of complexity or sector.
Starting today (22 September), Asta Powerproject files can undergo automatic analysis, forecasting, and simulation within the Nodes & Links AI Platform. This automation significantly reduced the potential for human errors and delays.
Asta Powerproject has already helped construction companies plan their projects
The engineering contractor McGee recently used Asta Powerproject to sequence and manage a five-storey mega-basement project for Claridge’s Hotel. The software allowed McGee’s project managers to implement cutting-edge techniques, mitigate structural risks, and coordinate material movements on an exceptionally challenging construction.
Asta Powerproject enabled McGee to Sequence a 65,000 sq ft basement extension beneath an operational hotel, a task deemed impossible by others, coordinate labour and synchronise daily material deliveries from an offsite yard due to limited on-site space.
Over the next three years, as this partnership and technology develop, generative AI will help project delivery teams focus on high-value tasks such as strategy development, acceleration analysis, risk mitigation, and leadership, further enhancing project outcomes.
BAM has opted into the new partnership
BAM Construction has recently become one of the first Elecosoft customers to take advantage of the new partnership.
“Our objective is always to complete them faster, more reliably, and at a reduced cost – both financial and environmental. This capability will have a transformative impact on our productivity, thanks to the intelligent interpretation and use of data, which is key to the planning and programming part of our business,” commented Ivor Barbrook, head of planning and project control at BAM UK and Ireland.
“Elecosoft and Nodes & Links are completely focused on the digital transformation of the construction industry, which aligns well with our mission at BAM. This partnership is a big step forward for us and for the wider ecosystem,” he continued.
“Our goal is to integrate AI assistants into all parts of the scheduling process, covering planning, updating, analysing and reporting and then planners will be able directly to influence and lead their own teams of AI assistants so that additional expertise can be incorporated in the interpretation of real-time information,” said Greg Lawton, CEO of Nodes & Links.
“This is the first step in an exciting partnership that has the potential to re-invent planning and transform the industry,” he concluded.
