As future regulations will soon come into force, an electric heating system will meet both your energy efficiency and design demands

Scientists tell us that to prevent further climate damage, we need to reduce global net human-caused emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2) by 45% from 2010 levels by 2030, reaching net zero by 2050.

As of 2025, when new regulations prevent the industry from installing gas systems in any new domestic or commercial buildings, we have an opportunity to rethink how we heat our buildings, and this must be achieved efficiently and economically. Electric heating reduces our carbon footprint compared with gas or oil boilers.

At the same time, we also have an opportunity to consider improving the design elements that enhance the character of our living spaces- such as weighing up the benefits of the aesthetically pleasing Climastar radiator range and other, traditional-looking electrical radiators.

Climastar’s electric heating solutions are both elegant and energy efficient

Climastar Global is one of Europe’s largest electric heating manufacturers, working in accordance with ISO 14001 standard, this environmental management system guarantees environmental care and the upmost commitment to producing green products and reducing pollutants in both the manufacture and use of our heating systems. Not only do we wish to minimise the negative impact on our ecosystem, we also continuously strive to improve and produce increasingly advanced efficient products with minimum energy consumption.

Operating in 16 countries worldwide gives Climastar Global an unrivalled expertise in heating residential/commercial properties. Marketing a family of electric heating solutions to the UK market from the Harmony Magma range to the Silicum Steel Curve range.

High quality silicon and aluminium ensure a quality product

Magma Stone: The Harmony range of electrical heaters uses two Magma Stone panels, offering improved efficiency in transferring the heat into the room and reducing consumption.

Magna Stone (Dual-Kherr technology) is the core of Climastar technology. It is a patented material made of silicon and aluminium. Why these two materials? Silicon is extremely good at storing heat while aluminium is one of the best heat conductors. During its production, the raw materials are milled, placed into moulds, put under 400kg/cm2 of pressure and then fired at 1,200C to a semi-liquid state. The materials contract and stabilise with no resins/glues used, just the heat and pressure. All panels go through a photograph, visual and planimetric quality control to detect any defects.

Climastar electric heating systems respond to their environment

TRIAC: The Climastar product manufactured for the UK, will consume less power because of the utilisation of TRIAC technology. TRIAC (Triode for Alternating Current) technology is an intelligent system that alters the energy expenditure of the heater as it nears the target temperature. The system provides extremely accurate temperature control with minimal energy usage compared with traditional heating methods.

Because a TRIAC allows current to flow in both directions the Climastar product is a “variable power” radiator. That means that the Climastar radiator will draw the minimum amount of current required to take the room to the selected temperature and then maintain the temperature while reducing the electrical draw and therefore reducing energy consumption. Other electrical radiators use a simple relay to control the electrical flow into the radiator and as a relay can only control energy flow in one direction (positive), it will always use more energy than a TRIAC system.

Heating Cruise Control (HCC) is the patented algorithm name that Climastar uses to manage the energy consumption. It is based on PID technology, which maintains a constant temperature, avoiding peaks and troughs of power usage and heat output. These algorithms are our best kept secret.

Smart technology ensures flexibility and efficiency

The most accurate thermostat in the industry: The Harmony thermostat works on an accuracy of +/- 0.3C as compared with some “German solid core” systems, which normally operate to +/- 2C. This is significant for the end user because, for every 1C increase in temperature, the electrical consumption will increase by around 8%, so we can see reduced consumption figures of between 8% and 16% when using a Climastar heating system compared with other types of electrical heating.

Open Window Technology: Another Climastar feature is the Open Window Technology, which shuts down the heater when a door or a window is opened in the same room, sending the heater into sleep mode until the window or door is closed. When this happens, the heater will resume its heating function, resulting in reduced energy bills and prolonging the life of the heater.

Wi-Fi built in as standard: The Harmony radiator also operates with a remote thermostat, allowing precise control of different temperatures in different rooms. Today, consumers expect the option to control electrical products using smartphones. Therefore, having Wi-Fi built into the control unit is a must-have. Using Wi-Fi, a consumer can significantly reduce their electrical usage and have more control over the way they heat their property. Why use energy to heat a building when no one is there?

Balancing style and sustainability with Climastar

The Harmony range by Climastar demonstrates a new approach to electric heating. We know that many consumers prefer the look and design of the Harmony range when comparing them aesthetically with a traditional radiator. If given a choice, they would prefer to install a Harmony system. We also know that combining Magna Stone, HCC and TRIAC technology with the most accurate thermostat available will result in reduced energy consumption and a greener future.

Installing a Climastar heating system makes perfect sense and will appeal to the end user while ensuring that they can heat their homes using best-in-class technology, resulting in reduced energy usage, which is the target for everyone moving forward.
