Jake Wilson, who has joined Actis as area sales manager for the South East and London, was attracted to the company because it ‘genuinely pushes the boundaries of what insulation can achieve.’

Insulation specialist Actis has appointed a new area sales manager for the South East and London to help merchants, builders and specifiers in the capital and home counties

Jake Wilson, who has an MA in international HR and a degree in international business management, will be offering technical advice, product guidance and on site support to distributors, merchants, architects and builders.

He says the combination of his academic background and previous work in sales for car hire giant Enterprise has provided him with skills essential for his new role.

Jake on how he is approaching the role:

“My MA taught me how people think, what motivates them, and how to communicate clearly with different personalities and working styles,” he explained.

“At Enterprise I had to understand the customer’s situation quickly, ask the right questions, and recommend the best option for them, not just the most obvious one. That taught me how to listen properly and tailor solutions, a mindset essential in insulation sales, where customers rely on you for clarity, technical guidance and confidence that they’re choosing the right system for their project.”

He is passionate about Actis’ ethos and product range

Away from work, Jake enjoys visiting National Trust properties with his Old English sheepdog Maya, whom he brought back to the UK from China, where he worked for four years, spending much of his time volunteering for animal charities.

As passionate about animal welfare as he is about insulation, Jake takes part every year in the Battersea Cats and Dogs Home ‘Muddy Dog Challenge,’ a 5k obstacle course for owners and their dogs to raise money for pets in need of new homes.
