Mark Thompson, head of the new J3 Advisory office

J3 Advisory is continuing its UK expansion with the launch of a new Scotland office, further strengthening its presence across the property and finance sectors

The new office will be led by Mark Thompson, who joins the business following a successful career as Sales Director at a prominent insurer. With expertise across structural warranty and development insurance, Mark brings an exceptional understanding of the Scottish market and a strong track record of working with developers, lenders, housing associations and investors.

The move marks another significant milestone for J3 Advisory as it continues to build on recent growth, major project wins and increasing demand for specialist insurance advice.

“A natural next step”

Jack Bristow, Managing Director at J3 Advisory, said: “Opening an office in Scotland is a natural next step for J3. We have been working on projects across the region for some time and have built strong relationships with developers, lenders and housing providers who value a more specialist, hands-on approach. Scotland presents a huge opportunity for the business and having a dedicated presence there means we can support clients even more closely, from initial discussions through to completion. Mark’s market knowledge, insurer relationships and commercial experience make him the perfect person to lead our Scottish operation and we are delighted to welcome him to the team.”

Mark Thompson added: “J3 has built an impressive reputation for solving complex insurance challenges and supporting projects that require a more tailored, strategic approach. There is enormous potential in the Scottish market and I am looking forward to working with developers, lenders and housing providers across the region as the business continues to grow.”

The launch of the Scotland office follows a strong period of momentum for J3 Advisory, with the business continuing to secure instructions on a wide range of residential, mixed-use and commercial developments across the UK.

In Scotland, J3 has already advised on a number of projects across Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen, supporting developers, lenders and housing providers on new-build residential schemes, conversion projects, affordable housing developments and mixed-use regeneration opportunities.

J3 has also continued to strengthen its position in more complex areas of the market, including airspace developments, conversion projects and first-of-their-kind schemes.

Among the business’s recent highlights was its involvement in Brook House, a pioneering project which attracted national media attention and demonstrated J3’s ability to structure insurance solutions for complex and innovative developments.

With offices now serving clients across multiple regions of the UK, J3 Advisory remains focused on building long-term relationships, delivering responsive service and helping clients navigate increasingly complex development risks.

The new Scotland office represents another important step in that journey.
